Now you’ll have more options to do so as Disney Weddings has announced that the East Plaza Garden will be open to accommodate wedding parties of up to 100 people.

    The site says:

The East Plaza Garden at Disney’s Magic Kingdom is a venue like no other where you can now say your vows with your beloved sweetheart in the ultimate fantasy setting. Located at the end of Main Street U.S.A., the East Plaza Garden provides the perfect setting for a ceremony fit for royalty. Not only does Cinderella Castle provide a stunning backdrop for your nuptials, but you can arrive to your ceremony in style with Cinderella’s Coach and for your wedding party a classic turn-of-the-century Main Street Vehicle.

With Disney Fine Art Photography capturing all the special moments of your ceremony, it will surely be a wedding you will never forget. If you’ve been dreaming of “I do” at the Happiest Place on Earth, look no further! Ask your Disney Wedding Consultant for more details on how to make this fairy tale ceremony at East Plaza Garden a reality.

If this sounds like a dream come true, you can begin by speaking to a Disney Wedding Consultant. But, heads up, packages for this location plus a customized ceremony and reception start at $75,000.

Both Ann and I had very simple (and exceedingly inexpensive) weddings when we married our late spouses. At this point in our lives I was able to afford more so I wanted something a little fancier. Still, our wedding cost just $10K and another $5K for the honeymoon. That is LONG WAYS from $75K!!

According to the official Disney site, the weddings in this space will take place at 9:30am, while the park is open. I understand that people might not want to have their ceremony in the middle of the night (not that 9:30am is exactly the time that everybody dreams of), but at least it would cut down on the gawking tourists and background noise.

I guess this would be perfect for anybody who dreams of walking down the aisle to "Clang, Clang, Clang Goes the Trolley" though

Disneyland used to offer weddings in the park in the mid-90s during park hours. I've recall seeing several weddings in progress. They were shielded by hedges, but there were lots of lookiloos.

I saw a wedding in Disneyland at some point in the past decade. I just assumed I hadn't seen one before (or after) that because $$$

The only thing that comes to mind is the impact on the guest experience. Do these weddings happen during regular park hours?

  9. You'll know I"ve won the lottery if you ever see me getting married in the middle of the MK. You'll also know I've lost my mind - $75,000 is a LOT of beans for a wedding ceremony.

Let's see, that would be our SS checks for........the rest of our lives!:p
Luckily, we paid for tying the knot over 44 years ago to the tune of about $50.
Though I did see a couple climb into the Cinderella coach at Disneyland once and it did make me wistful.

Why would anyone want to get married on Disney property? ;)

My daughter had a "kind of" Disney Wedding. The were married in the gorgeous Leu Gardens in Orlando, and then had their reception at 'Ohana. We used DVC points to have the wedding party stay at Old Key West Resort for a couple of nights and for the bridal couple to stay there for a week. It was very enjoyable and not all that expensive. :) :)

A reception at 'Ohana sounds awesome!

I got married on the Queen Mary which was once owned by Disney (before we got married on it). So maybe it kinda counts???

The folks at 'Ohana were great! It was a small wedding so we didn't have the entire restaurant, but they seated us all together. There were even able to bake a wedding cake for us and the entertainer made reference to the wedding. It was a very special experience. :)

My daughter-in-law wanted a Disneyland wedding until she saw the pricetag. I told we could just get a member of the family ordained, get our own boat for Small World and do it on the ride. We never did it though.

While $75K is a lot of lettuce, I expect there will be takers.

  19. Agreed. I wouldn't like the idea of the park being open and strangers being around while I was getting married, though. I can see the photobombs now!
