I'm getting the feeling that Facebook has replaced LP as a means of maintaining contact between those who became friends. I've not made the move to facebook...

From posts, and emails received, I get the feeling keyboard warriors drove some away. I've been attacked too but tried to turn it into a laugh.

Rider 1 - Kids grew up and in University (Dad struggling to pay fees...). Living in Ireland makes California trips expensive. Last family visit was last August for my daughters 19th. I'm back in California in ~3 weeks but a day in Disneyland is now $195. YIKES!!

Lulu - Sorry to hear you were bullied away. I hope your business is doing well and you check in now and then! Perhaps those that villified you have crawled back into their holes!

Peeaanuut - Great you checked in - What's up now and happened in days past?

Others mentioned by other posters earlier whom disappeared - Would love to hear an update and if still drawn to things Disney?

I wonder if there's a chance to resurrect the LP discussion boards to what it was 10 years ago??

I think about that almost daily.
I don't do FB. I like forums that are more specific than general.

I go way back but haven't posted much in years. With the kids 13 and 9 now we bought our first Annual Passes to WDW this year so we are making numerous trips up the Turnpike to get make them worthwhile.

I was an early naysayer for Fastpass but I must say we have enjoyed the MagicBands and the early booking of rides. It takes a lot of pressure off our visits now.

We are really enjoying Epcot and Animal Kingdom and are just a little disappointed about the mess that Hollywood Studios has become. Knowing what they are preparing for takes some of the pain off.

Hope everyone is well. World Events and divisive politics drove me away. This election season may keep me away. But, I'll keep lurking in the wings.

Ditto. I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook that I...hate? Does that even make sense? I have maybe 5-10 Facebook friends I really enjoy and would not otherwise interact with and I hate the thought of missing out on them and those relationships. And my work requires me to be on Facebook--we promote some of our products there and try and interact, however infrequently, with some of our followers. But beyond that, I do not enjoy Facebook and I do not like how much I find myself on there.

Regardless, I prefer places like LP. It's a great message board and it's a shame things have migrated to Facebook.

Howdy. Other than one inquiry in Trip Planning late last year, I haven't posted in years. But some FB friends alerted me to the new discussion board format, so I popped in to sign up again so I could keep my old user name. And what to my wondering eyes did appear but a breath of new life. Very cool to see so many of my old favorites posting here again!

We are moving in 2 weeks and I have a new hair place all picked out so... Hopefully within a month!

 

1. These boards will take some getting used to. As the Doctor(s) has said before, "You've redecorated...I don't like it!", but I actually do like it...it's very sleek.

I do like the new upgrades to the boards! Haven't been around in a LONG time (I had to re-register even!!), but good to see some familiar faces!

Hey iceknyght! You probably don't even remember me but we met at a meet in Seattle years ago. (I may have been RAM1984 at that time.) Hope life in CO is treating you well.

 

Yes! I remember!! That was a fun trip! Even if I did chicken out at the Space Needle... Colorado is great (just moved here a couple years ago)! I haven't been back to Seattle since that trip and would definitely like to go back at some point! Hope it's still as nice as I remember!

 

We go at least twice a year as we now have 3 grandchildren there. We were downtown in Jan and I brought up my resentment that I still have not been up that thing.
My family is from Denver. I love Colorado. Especially the Grand Lake area where many of my relatives still live.
