Simple, really. Name your favorite fast food item that no longer exists. Feel free to elaborate if you like.

    <---McDLT

When I worked at my high school McJob, this was the sandwich of choice for all the "crew members". When properly prepared, hot and fresh from the grill, it was the best tasting McDonalds sandwich of all time.

I would have had to name "fried apple pies" ahead of the old McDLT as my absolute favorite, except that those still exist here in Japan (lucky me!).

This may be "cheating" since I don't think it was ever a normal menu item, but I really liked the McPizza that got tested on and off for a few years in the early 90's. I fully realize that it was a long stretch from being "good" pizza, but there was just something about its unapologetically-manufactured taste that just worked for me. It also had the advantage of being in limited locations, so it was one of those special things that we could only find when travelling

The fried apple pie is also available here in Austria. I don't like McDonalds, but this fried apple pie one of the few items I eat there.

Jack-in-the-Box used to serve a Taco Salad that was SO perfect. It was in this round container and had the taco meat in the center. It was lettuce on the outside and was covered in cheese and served with chips. I miss it.

Don't know why I liked this burger so much and why no one else seemed to like it.

I've never had one, but I always found it interesting that McD's didn't think to put cheese on the hot side so it would get all melty. Nevertheless, I've read YouTube comments where people requested to have the cheese on top of the burger, and the crew members complied :)

Taco Bell refried beans - back when they actually made them from scratch - will real beans even! Today they use a variation of 5 ingredients to make everything.

Naugles - was a fast food chain and used to serve nachos with Dorito's chips - yum!

Carl's Jr - their chili dogs were fantastic!

PS: McDonalds has added breakfast any time to their menu. Had an Egg McMuffin recently - tastes exactly the same as when I was a kid. Delish!

    I know, right?

When I made it myself, I always put the cheese on top of the meat before preparing the "cool side".

Wasn't this pretty much their version of the Whopper?

Kind of. IIRC though, it's the only sandwich from any fast food restaurant that included mayo, mustard AND ketchup (sounds gross, but it's actually pretty wonderful :p). The whopper is missing the mustard. ;)

Yeah, not a fan of the red, white, and yellow; I'll take my burgers with lettuce, tomato, and cheese only ;)

OMG! We do not eat fast food and have not for many years. But the Enchirito was up there in my favorites back in the Day.
