The Le Cellier thread got me thinking - what are the best and worst dining values at Walt Disney World? I think the Trail's End breakfast buffet is the best buffet value on property. Less than $20 for an all-you-can-eat with lots of hot choices even for me, a vegetarian. Bad Value: Kona Cafe for lunch or dinner, as much as I did enjoy the food, was always very painful. I always got the Asian Noodle Bowl with tofu which is now $19 for dinner. I know I'm no property, I know I'm at a Monorail resort - it's still hard to pay $19 for a vegetarian entree outside the park and a relatively casual restaurant. Edited to clarify Kona as a bad value.
You know my candidate for worst value... Le Cellier. I agree with you on Trail's End and Kona Cafe for good values, and would add 'Ohana to those. It is not very well known and is certainly off the beaten path, but I also think Olivia's Cafe at Old Key West offers a very good value. The food is very good, reasonably priced and I enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.
Completely agree on Olivia's. I actually meant Kona for lunch and dinner as a bad value. haha. I am ok with 'Ohana, though. Not bad at all.
I think the "Plate Lunches" at Kona are a pretty good value ($15.99). Kona can be pricey for dinner, but I guess I overlook it because I love Lamb and Kona is one of the few places at WDW that has it. Priced at $29 I find it a pretty good value.
