Wow, they really cleaned up the foliage. On my last trip a year ago you could only see the heads of the African bull elephants.
Nice to see Jungle Cruise again. It's been a couple of years since I've been on it. I always ride it at night, so this video looks completely different to me.
We rode this on May 12th during the soft opening. My kid thought that the butterflies at the start of the ride were new. Are they? I couldn't say for sure.
Not sure about the butterflies at DL. We had them at WDW 30 years ago 'They've been know to flutter into a boat and flap a man senseless'
Our favorite thing is to catch the last ride of the night. Often there are just a few people and sometimes a few cast members. We have done it without the patter and just chatted with the skipper and one time we did it in silence. It is amazing the sounds that are drowned out during the day.
Ooh....yes! I'm going to try that next time. From the time I was a kid, I would prefer they didn't tell so many of the corny jokes. I loved the fantasy of this ride and of being in a dark jungle.--It all became so real to me. The headhunters impressed me quite a bit.
Yeah, when I was a kid it was a serious ride through the jungle. (Nobody pretended those lions were protecting a sleeping zebra.)
They've been there at least since the big "something gnu" refurbishment they had about a decade ago when they added the piranhas. It's rare to have a guide point them out, since they're usually going over the safety spiel at that point, and they're easy to overlook with the vines and mist around the boat making them fade into the background. I assume they're still at the very beginning, or have they been moved somewhere else?
Seems like there used to be another water buffalo in the water in that scene with the boa constrictor? No?
