I don't know if this is exactly a Word Event, but I don't know where else to put it. Somehow I found it vaguely amusing. You can't make this stuff up!!

I thought about that too, but when I checked out posts there it seemed that most were kind of interactive games where people would make responses to the original post. I suppose I could have asked for different names for a "trouser snake", but I thought that would have been over the edge for any section but WE.

 

My parents referred to it as the "Tallywhacker". Where the heck did that come from??

I'll never be able to see a jolly man on horseback shouting "Tally ho!" with a big goofy grin on his face in the same light again.

 

My son-in-law was told that girls have a *funny* and boys have a *funny funny*. That actually kind of makes sense to me.

 

I believe the official name would be "the one eyed trouser trout". Sounds classier!
