The global deal will see Disney Channel take the broadcast and on-demand rights for the animated series produced in Toronto by Nelvana Enterprises. Disney nabbed Hotel Transylvania: The Television series for platforms in the U.S., Europe (excluding Germany), Latin America, Australia/New Zealand, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. 'Hotel Transylvania' TV Series Headed to Disney Channels Worldwide
This seems like kind of a strange fit to me, but I guess Disney Channel is running low on animated series at the moment so it fills a void. In the 90's there were all sorts of TV shows based on popular feature films (Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules, 101 Dalmatians, and even Dumbo and Alice had shows) but it's a format they haven't really used recently. Given the wide array of characters and locations, it seems like Zootopia could be a good choice for this sort of thing, assuming Disney has enough confidence in their own product to invest in it
Disney was trading at 100 dollars a share yesterday, Sony 25 dollars a share. What if Disney interactive was shut down, because they are about to own Playstation.
