I was there in May, and experienced what I thought was probably an artifact of the recent financial under-performance. The park closed at 8:30pm the day I was there, and that was also the time of the fireworks. But, without any mention of such in the Times Guide or any other posted notice that we could see, essentially all of the E-tickets closed an hour before park closing: Jungle Cruise, Mystic Manor, IASW, Grizzly Gulch Mine Cars, and several others. Basically, other than for shopping and food, the park closed an hour before posted closing time. I'd never seen anything like it. Very disappointing. A CM happened to mention it in passing, and but for that, we would have missed Mystic Manor, which was going to be the highlight of our visit.
Wow, that's some amateur, two-bit cheapness right there! Sounds like something some *other* amusement park would do, not Disney.
First time I saw a metal detector at an amusement parks was the Six Flags in New Jersey. What a hellhole that place was! Thanks for the tip about attractions closing early since I hope to get to HK later this year.
