Halloween time starts at Disneyland today. Ghost Galaxy has finally replaced Hyperspace Mountain for a couple of months. Anyone going to Mickey's Halloween Party?
Not this year; it has gotten too expensive and exclusive. But we will be there next week for some pre-Halloween fun.
Looks like an AA Sally has been added to the graveyard scene in HMH. Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort Begins Today with New Spooky Spectres in Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland Park
If you have been to many Halloween events at DL such as I have, you will notice how it is just not worth it . Horrible crowds, higher prices, and fewer offerings each year. The only reason to really visit is to catch a ride on the Mansion in my opinion. Its a shame, it used to be my favourite time to visit. The Sally addition is neat though!
We went all the time when it was at DCA. We took the grandkids and just loved it. And it was very affordable. When they moved it to Disneyland, upped the price and made the fireworks exclusive I said, "Count me out!" (Sorry children of less than wealthy parents; you just don't get to see the special fireworks.) That sucks in my opinion.
I agree that the Halloween stuff, including the parties, was a lot more fun the first few years. It seems like they've slowly chipped away from the offerings over time (does DCA do *anything* for it these days? Originally it had even more than DL) while the crowds have increased. If I remember right, the old DCA parties cost about $20-25, which was a great deal; the current ones that cost nearly the same as a full day ticket are comically overpriced As for Sally, I'm surprised it took so long to get her. She's been part of TDL's Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare since it debuted in 2004. I remember reading that they made duplicates for WDW (since the ride layout is identical to WDW), but it looks like the new DL one is different
I want to figure out how to cheat the system for the halloween party. How early can you go with your ticket to get in for the event? Also, are all the rides open? Is the Halloween party more or less crowded than during the day? Cheating crocs want to know.
Sadly though, they still sell out! Crazy croc, last year we were able to enter at 3pm and parking is included. The park is busy until the official time with people trying to squeeze in their last rides in. The trick or treat stations are busy at first, so better to do a few rides, hit up the treat stations and then go on rides later in the evening. Typically you can get on Space Mountain under 15 mins! and reasonable times for the Mansion which are busiest that time of year. Some of the treat stations are pretty well done, and worth going through. If you haven't been before its worth trying. Oh, and do not visit DCA on a Halloween party evening after Disneyland closes! Some of the longest lines I have ever witnessed.
Oh, and yes, all the rides are open Wow Sally, I cant believe those prices! Sadly the major price increase seems to still draw in more people.
Thanks for the info, could one reasonably assume..... That if you ignored the halloweeen festivities and just went to ride the rides you would get more done in that time period than the earlier part of that day?
Interesting. Are Jack/Sally at the loading point all the time, or was this just for opening day or something?
Whatt!!! no parking, that was one of the draws...made the ticket price almost a semi decent deal. Yes, Crazy Croc, I would say that you can do much more than during the day. We had Fast passes, and the lines were so minimal we didn't need to use them. However, with the treat stations, fireworks, and additional things to look at the time passes very quickly, and the night almost feels a bit rushed.
I went to Disneyland yesterday after work. It was pretty uncrowded. I was able to do Ghost Galaxy three times in an hour. Too me, the projections were a little blurry. I think I like Hyperspace Mountain better. Hyperspace seemed to have more projections. HMH was a half hour wait. That Sally figure is fairly tall and you get very close to her. The ginger bread ball room smelled great. The lines for candy seemed pretty long.
