I kind of agree although I think a new attraction gives the resort some extra publicity so something for after Star Tours 2 would be good - especially for WDSP.

I wonder what the actual plans are for the future in terms of new attractions. I guess it will either be something based on Marvel or Pixar. Toy Story Mania comes to mind.

Toy Story Mania seems like an easy option somewhere over in TSPL, but I think the other side of the park needs help. I guess a Marvel attraction would work there, but I wonder if the lack of Marvel stuff at DLP (when most resorts have something now, no matter how small) does hint at that being the theme for the next park. A Marvel theme park would be huge news for DLP and would potentially open up a whole new market for them.

It has been rumoured for quite some time now, recently ED SCA made it more or less official and Hyperspace Mountain is coming to DLP.

Space Mountain: Mission 2 closes 9th January for rumoured Hyperspace Mountain overlay

I've experienced HSM in Anaheim and I wasn't impressed, maybe it was because of the not so thrilling coaster. I'm really not a fan of this overlay, but maybe the DLP version might be better due to the more intense coaster. However I wish the SW theming would not be introduced in Paris, but since it's happening, I hope it will only be temporary.

I still hope that one day, the original Jules Verne based ride is returning, but I guess that's not going to happen. The regular Disney guest isn't into reading classic books.

I don't want to see a park based only on one IP. Marvel and Lucasfilm are the perfect properties for the studios park and I would much rater see Star Wars and Marvel there than in a new park. In my opinion, in Europe the Marvel movies are much more popular than the comics, so WDI would use the movies for the attractions. The same is true for Lucasfilm and so the stuiods park would be a good location for the two Disney subsidiaries. Indiana Jones should stay in Disneyland, but they should move Star Wars completely to WDSP.

I'm a huge fan of the Marvel movies and I want a Marvel based attraction soon, but not like in California, where they use an existing ride for a Marvel ride. Marvel deserves something new and original.

I really enjoyed Hyperspace Mountain and would be happy to have it as a seasonal overlay, but I agree that I'd like the Jules Verne theming back in an ideal world.

I understand hat layover for the US parks, but Disneyland Paris' first SM had such a fantastic backstory, even Mission II is a better theme compared to the US SM. There is just no need in Paris for that.

I agree that Hyperspace Mountain would be unnecessary in DLP. If they really need to do a Star Wars coaster, maybe they could do it for Rockin' Rollercoaster since the theme there is pretty minimal and it's in the park where they're doing the Star Wars event

I know that the refurbishment isn't complete, but Space Mountain looked a whole lot better than on my previous trip. It was great to see the cannon working again, and the projections inside were vastly improved from what I remember. It's still a very rough and disorienting coaster, but it was nice to see the aesthetic improvements. In general, it seemed like the parks were in much better condition this time (though there were also a lot of areas closed for refurbishment)

I know I'm in the minority, but I really like Rock'n'Rollercoaster at DLP and I don't want to see it go, but I have to agree, they should have used RnRC instead of SM for the overlay. Like you said, it would make sense combined with the SW event.

Euro Disney is making a great announcement next Monday.

Any idea what it's related to?

I'm pretty sure that the announcement will not be that great. I guess it will be about the 25th anniversary, like the theme.

I'm sure I'm overanalyzing the photo included in the tweet, but the first thing my eyes went to was the green space in the expansion pad originally intended for the Beauty and the Beast AA show. I'm sure they just wanted a pretty birds-eye view of the castle (which was about the last thing I saw in the picture), but it did make me wonder if there might be something more to the announcement

My guess is it will be about the 25th as well, but it would be interesting if it was something else.

Talking of Beauty and the Beast, it's interesting that the two movies have bookended DLPs first 25 years. With the new film coming out soon BatB could be a good theme for the celebrations.

    That is an interesting coincidence!

Does anybody know if the film crew spent much time doing research near the DLP site? I couldn't help but notice during the race that the farmland surrounding the parks looks awfully similar to the farmland surrounding Belle's "little town"

I'm surprised to see water in the castle moat. When I was there, it was drained and we assumed that it was drained for the season and Dreams would be playing the "dry" version for the rest of the winter. Although the show was still good, I'm disappointed that we just happened to get it at a bad time, rather than during an extended downtime

I'm also surprised to see that Five Guys is going into Disney Village. They originated in the DC area, so there are a ton of them around here and I love going to them (the one in the airport was actually my last "American" meal before I left!), but it just doesn't strike me as a concept that is particularly suited to European tastes. Do they have other locations in Europe? I didn't notice any (though we did see Vapiano all over Vienna, which was fun!)

When we had been to DLP, they were cleaning the castle moat and were working on the rockworks, but the fountains were all working during Dreams.

If I'm not mistaken, there's another Five Guys restaurant somewhere in Paris. It opened in summer.

Have you tried Vapiano in Vienna? Did you try any traditionals restaurants over here, or did you have to watch what you were eating because of the running events?
