The fascist has been in office for 8 years. That's part of why Trump won - to get the fascist OUT.

So glad Trump won. Now to clear DC of every Marxist hippie that has corrupted the town for decades. OUT!

Right wing fools have been describing Obama as a "Fascist" for years.

Only proving they have no idea what the word means. Cue Mandy Patinkin.

    This may help:

    Fascism - Wikipedia

"Fascism /ˈfæʃɪzəm/ is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism[1][2] that came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe, influenced by national syndicalism. Fascism originated in Italy during World War I and spread to other European countries. Fascism opposes liberalism, Marxism and anarchism and is usually placed on the far-right within the traditional left–right spectrum.[3][4]"

Fascist marxist hippie. Wow, is that a thing now?

Makes for a great alternative-rock band name. You forgot socialist though. I guess Prez Obama graduated.

Hang on, shouldn't a fascist like Obama have cleared out all the marxist hippies himself? (thanks Dabob!)

There is no doubt that Trump's message was fascist, but I don't think he is a fascist. He is a megalomaniac that will say anything outrageous to get praise and publicity. He happened to find a ready audience in the alt-right crowd. I think that is what everyone in the center and left are reacting to post-election: that so many of these alt-right people are celebrating that they found a voice in Trump. But I think they are going to be disappointed in his agenda and will be looking for a new hero in the not-too-distant future (that should scare the bejeezus out of us). Trump stirred up the hornet's nest, now they want to attack something.

    As a reminder.....

Video catches students shouting ‘white power’ while marching with Trump sign at Pennsylvania school

Bannon is definitely a fascist. Guliani probably, Gingrich perhaps. We'll see which government positions they end up in.

That is an incorrect definition of fascism. Wikipedia is incorrect in this regard.

The true mark of a Republican, circa 2016. Facts are inconvenient, so make up your own.

Exactly. "Fascism" isn't what it actually was in history and thus has a widely accepted definition... it's whatever they say it is so they call people they don't like a "Fascist." Calling Obama a Fascist is laughable and an insult to everyone who actually had to live through Fascism.

"That is an incorrect definition of fascism. Wikipedia is incorrect in this regard."

    And there it is. Fool.

Nothing really to add here except that as a *Hippie* I am offended by the *Fascist Marxist* reference. (And my spell check put the right case on Marxist.)
I do wish people would check the facts and then not discard them.

The Wikipedia definition looks pretty good to me. The name itself is derived from the "fascia" (band of cloth, usually black) followers of Mussolini's syndicalism wore on their sleeves. They were an ultra-nationalist group that essentially had the motto, "make Italy great again". Sounds oddly familiar....

Out of curiosity, and I know am going to regret this, what do you think the definition is?

    Here's Merriam-Webster's definition:
    Definition of FASCISM
    "
    Definition of fascism
    1. 1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

    2. 2 : a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control <early instances of army fascism and brutality — J. W. Aldridge>"
The current President does not fit into that description.
