Deaths, injuries after reports of explosion at Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena: Police
A second terror attack in England today. Three men in a vehicle plowed into pedestrians in London, then got out and started stabbing people.
The press is reporting six dead, but it's more like 11 in this latest attack. These types of random medium level attacks are what's expected here in the US any time now.
It's extremely difficult to prevent those kind of random attacks, also. Probably harder here than in Europe, given our gun laws. An under-reported story is how many people have been arrested in Europe on gun charges before they could carry out anything; in other words, having the guns and rifles itself was a crime, so people that intelligence services were watching could be arrested on that basis alone. Not true here - even someone on a terrorist watch list could just go to a no-background-check gun show and pick up a small arsenal.
Scary, that is what I was just thinking. Watch the pennies and the dollars take care of themselves. We have spent most of our energy watching the dollars.
