Post photos of some of your favorite places around Disneyland or inside the attractions. If you wish, try to put into words why these things are special to you.
I'll kick things off with one of my favorites--the moment the train rolls into the tunnel, taking us past dioramas of the Grand Canyon as we know it today, and then into the primeval world. I have enjoyed that portion of the trip ever since I was just a kid. It really set my imagination on fire and I still enjoy it today. If Disneyland gets rid of its dinosaurs, it will lose a great portion of its magic. dinos.jpg

Well, this one's gone, but I always enjoyed the Carnation Plaza Gardens area. Ever see a show there or dance under the canopy? In its last days, it was nothing more than a quiet corner of the park.

    Yep!
I love this thread but am on someone else's computer and cannot post a picture. When I am back on mine I will join the trip down memory lane.

Adventureland, to me, is best visited at night as the darkness serves to enlarge the experience. Trader Sam, and most of the characters and sights along the Jungle Cruise become a little more fearsome.

Whenever possible we try to catch the last Jungle Cruise of the night. We have had some awesome experiences.

Finding an empty park bench is always welcoming especially late in the day when the ol' dogs start barking.
I was fortunate enough, several years ago, to purchase a Disneyland park bench. At that time, Disney had an eBay account listed as Disney Auctioneers. Anyway, the photo is not of my bench. Unfortunately, mine is in need of a new paint job. But, our family has enjoyed it for all these years. When I have a chance to restore it, I will take some pics and share. Yes, it will be quite a sight to behold. lol

It's a small world....If I'm not mistaken, these same suns have been hanging in there for years. Unless, that is, they have been remade. But, they don't seem to change. Going into it's a small world is like going back in time.

I don't know why, but I've always liked this little lamp. I know somebody who would probably call this "charming." :D

I don't think charming means what he thinks it means.

You mean the really bad glare or the disillusioning "it's not really a tree" shot?
I remember using film cameras and getting back home with most of the roll being really bad photos.

The glaring flash is now intentional but it may have started as a picture "coming back on film."

It's built into the camera to automatically blur out certain pictures. It usually is done when the camera detects alien spacecraft.

The act of everything at Disneyland sucks except the Haunted Mansion is charming is wearing kind of thin. If he hates it so much why does he go every day?

Oh yes, what is it now, the Royal Theater? It's been awhile since I've had the chance to go to DL. I suppose it was a waste of space most of the time, but that's one of the things I liked about it. It's those quiet corners where the most magic happens.

Yes, it's attached to the whole rethemed zone on that side, where they have the princess meet and greets. It's quite nicely done, and it has a great nod to "Hunchback of Notre Dame" in it, as well as being a more active use of the space. When the storybook theater shows end, they use it for other things in the evening, mostly on the weekend. It wouldn't surprise me if they brought the performing arts stuff back in there at some point. It's still mostly set up as it was back when the area was still more open to the hub.
