So....it`s been just over 12 years since my last visit to Disneyland and probably 11 since my last post here, but, I am taking my daughter ( who turns 22 next Tuesday) back for 3 days in February !
With that here I am looking for advice as to any...lol... of the changes there in the last 12 years...fast pass?...must see new attractions...and what is the best way to fit it into a 3 day park hopper!....what times are the parks going to be open to at that time of the year....I have sooo many questions...this is bit of a last minute thing for this guy.

Hey, Pirate Pete! Welcome back to da hood. I'm sure you'll get lots of good info from folks here, that are much more knowledgeable than me. It's been over a year since we've been to DL. Many things have changed since we were there last. They're about to change even more.

No Star Wars yet...that will possibly be at the end of next year. Since it has been so long since you've been there I would suggest adding the MaxPass to your tickets. That will allow you to book FastPasses as you stand in line AND gives you access to download and photopass/ride pictures that you guys have during your stay. Three days will allow you to do everything that you want and a decent (not rushed) pace.

Thanks for posting this. I hadn't heard about it. I'll have to check into it for our next trip which will probably be the end of March.

I know they've changed the security checkpoints since we were there last.
It's great when you can go to the parks for a few days. That way you don't have to rush around. I'm starting to get a little anxious about going, myself. My son's high school band will be marching in a parade there. They said the band would be marching down Main Street, but they also said that when my older daughter's band went, and they ended up marching through CA.

The security checkpoints went pretty quickly when we were down there in September. I think we only got selected a couple of times to have to go through the scanner, but it was no big deal to us because we would rather have that feeling of security than be huffy that it took us an extra minute to get through a line.

Agreed, absolutely. It's sad, remembering a more innocent time, but worth the precautions. Nothing more American than Disneyland. It would be awful if something unspeakable happened there.

We got caught in some REALLY long SLOW lines going to the trams from the parking lot. It seems so arbitrary. Sometimes there would only be two areas open and really long lines. Then the next time they would all be open and there would be no lines. It was often better to take the walk over to DTD and then go in on the Monorail.

That is how we do it still. With a little strategy and patience; it works just fine. And taking advantage of free FP's while they still exist.

Things may have changed a bit...but it`s the same layout....my daughter, she just turned 22 today :), and I can boogie everywhere in the parks fairly easily...grabbing a FP on the way buy the busy ride on our way to get in line at another one. I may try the maxxpass on the Saturday as it as I would imagine this would be the busiest day of our stay there and it may be of some help possibly...I also found out it is 10 dollars per day.

$10 per day PER ticket...so actually $20 for the two of you. I think it's a good move to try the MaxPass on a weekend when the parks will be more crowded.
