I'm going to the Grand Floral Parade and having lunch with my mom on Saturday, and doing an early Father's Day on Sunday at Cascade Barrel Brewing House to share a couple of Honey Ginger Lime beers and lunch w/ my dad since they will be in Iceland for the actual day.
Next Tuesday is an official holiday here in Austria and so I took tomorrow and Monday off of work to fly to Stockholm over the weekend.
I'll have Saturday to myself, as my husband will be out on a shooting trip up north, so I will be finishing a painting I started last weekend (acrylics) and then Sunday we are going to a church baptism event on the beach.
Last weekend included Enchanted Forest amusement park, The Oregon Garden, and Silver Falls State Park. Next weekend: Great Wolf Lodge (in Washington) with Nana!
I totally forgot you were out in my knick of the woods!! Are the little attractions still covered in a fine layer of dust at Enchanted Forest? It has been a long time since I've taken any little ones over there, and I'm hoping they have spruced the place up a bit. Let's see...last weekend...Lacamas Lake with the dogs so they could go swimming and I test drove a Subaru Crosstrek with all of the bells and whistles on it. Definitely tempted... This weekend we have our back porch project. We are putting up railing on the deck, taking up some of the grass to make gravel runways and a place for the wading pool for the dogs to cut down on the amount of mud coming into the house, and putting down pavers to delineate the grass from the gravel. Whew...we have our work cut out for us!!
Oh the mystery of it all, not knowing what the heck I'm going to be doing this weekend..... Probably mowing the yard, trying to talk everyone into going to a restaurant of MY choice, and staying in to watch old movies on the telly.
Continuing to transfer stuff from old RV to new so we can slap a For Sale sign on it. Also, Rod is finishing up some water damage repair.
Refinishing the back deck, putting up railings, and digging up areas to put down gravel for the dogs. I would much rather go hang out with @Marlin Perkins ...I'll go to whatever restaurant you want to go to, and I'll bring popcorn and wine for the movies!!
You mean to tell me that you'd rather hang out with ME than put up railings and dig in the dirt??! I'm flattered! It seriously sounds pretty great. Nothing better than wine, the movies, and a friend!
I definitely would've enjoyed the wine, movies, and friendship a little more than the back and knee soreness I am feeling after this weekend. The good news is that the deck looks great! I'll attempt to remember to take a pic when I get home to show you guys our triumph...lol!
I'd like to see your deck! I built a pergola for my wife just before Mother's Day. I also built stone columns with a sitting area and fire pit. Here's a pic. You can't see all the stone work and it looks like one of the pergola posts is leaning for some reason, but it's actually straight.
Totally forgot to take a pic last night because I was baking potatoes for Steve's employees for their cookout today...LOL!! I will be sure to snap a pic tonight though. We will still be making a few additions to it, but the construction of it is done.
This is what we did last weekend. We flipped ALL of the boards on the porch, cleaned them, replaced a few that were looking sad, and put up the railing. We have lights coming for the posts this week. The dirt next to the gray building (shop) will be filled with gravel this weekend in an attempt to lessen the dirt the dogs bring in. If you look closely next to the BBQ Kricket is blending in nicely with her revised surroundings. THIS weekend I am going to the Grand Floral parade with my mom and attempting to have nothing to do with the yard if I can help it...other than maybe having a glass of wine out there one evening.
