When I was at the Magic Kingdom in April 2018, I noticed that the cigar store Indian was missing from Main Street. Where did he go? And why? Is he coming back?

I have read that the Indian chief at the MK was moved to Frontierland. I have also heard that it is removed for cleaning/restoration once a year.
