The fact of the matter is that the other side will not let Hillary go. They need a diversion so they can justify their own choices this time around. That actuality is that this election was never really about Hillary, it was about those that supported Trump and those that didn't. Hillary was only used as a way to divert attention away from that fact. Do I think Hillary would have made the best President we ever had, hell no. But I did think that she was arms and legs above what we got.

Never had so many ignored so much to gain so little in the history of this country. I might warn Congress, if they aren't already extremely aware of it, that if they want to retain any power in the government they had better grow a pair and govern. If they just rubber stamp Pres. Trump they will lose everything and so will we. I might also warn Republicans that they probably shouldn't over celebrate this success because they just made a giant step toward non-existence with this election unless they actually take command and do the right things for this country. There is nothing sadder then a powerless politician. Kinda defeats the purpose of running doesn't it. This country cannot afford a honeymoon period with this demented person, if you don't take control now of the proper laws of the land you will lose it all. It has happened before and it can happen again. Don't say we didn't try and warn everyone of the path they were headed in. If I am wrong I will apologize publicly, I am not writing my speech yet though.

RNIFTNTS that although I don't really get behind the whole New Year's Resolution thing, I do appreciate the beginning of a new year as a chance to reflect and redirect my mindset going forward. Heading into 2017, I intend to desire less while giving more, release my emotional hold on "things" and practice going with the flow. Also, staying true to my word... backing up words with actions that prove them true. As May 1st approaches (my due date for our first child) I feel a shift in momentum- though life is "moving fast", I remain present; this is the moment and these are the times.

I sure did! Got to spend some great time with family and friends. Even enjoyed an afternoon at the beach in the sun.

Laughing Place is more like Lonely Place these days. It's a holiday weekend and I see that I am the only person on here right now, Monday, 4pm...... It's sad. I know that I only see and interact with 3-4 people on here anymore. Maybe it's time I let go. I appreciate that they have kept the boards up for us, but it seems kind of pointless anymore. And, I hate to think that they are doing it just for the few people that are still hanging-on. I don't know.... It's hard to let go too.

C'mon @Marlin Perkins ...who else am I going to talk to about enjoying a nice glass of wine on the weekends with? I agree that it is pretty stagnant, but our little trio would be awful sad without you around. My weekends are generally too packed for me to jump on-line, but this is how I start my day at work. I enjoy this little community of ours. I hope you stick around for a while...I would miss you.

I appreciate the kind words. I'd really miss you guys too. Honestly, I didn't know if I could actually quit on you. I hope you know, I didn't post this as one of those big drama, "Farewell cruel world," kinda posts. I wanted to know how all of you feel. I really miss the old days. But, I guess there's no solution to that at the moment. I'll stick around as long as you do...or until the close the joint. Wish we could come up with a way of rejuvenating the ol' place. Also, if you are on Facebook and want to connect that way, I have one of my email addresses on my profile. Send me a message and I'll tell you how to look for me on FB.

I am one of the few FB hold-outs much to my friends' chagrin. I've seen social media cause too many nasty things, so I try to stay out of it. I'll PM you for that e-mail address though. :D

Yeah, FB is kind of a drag sometimes. I'm really not a huge fan, I don't even post much these days, and I unfollow people who rant about politics. Yet, it's the same kind of situation for me there as it is on LP; I'd miss the interaction with the few friends and family that I have. That includes LP friends that don't come on the boards anymore.

I am also a Facebook holdout. The longer I stay away the less inclined I am to join. That is why I am so upset at the death rattle I hear on LP. We were scanning through some old photos the other day and I sighed, "Damn I miss those people!"

That looks like a lot of fun! The folks over on WDWMagic do little mini-meetups whenever paths cross. I like the Trip Report community over there, but I tend to stay away from a lot of the other forums though. There is always some good stuff posted on their DLR forum too in regards to construction stuff too.
