Same here with the pun. Completely over my head. On the other hand, "Pinball Wizard" was comparatively obvious.

This weekend, I hope I manage to get through running a batch of flyers for the Apollo Day festivities. It's going to be black and two spot colors on whatever stock is available, on the Windmill, and I have to run red first, because I have to heat up the Ludlow, and recast some slugs for both the black and blue passes. (The Museum Director suggested some very valid changes to three lines, and on proofreading it, he pointed out that I had the date as "July 20, 2919." Oops!). I want to get them printed this weekend, so that I'll have them for Krazy Krafts Day, on the 30th.

My daughter posted the pic on FB and one of her friends from high school finally got it. (Silly me, I thought it was obvious.) Most people seemed to think I was just an old lady in her bathrobe dressed as Pooh.
I will say that pic was taken at the end of the day and my nose had rubbed off and I had changed into Crocs for the walk to the car.
    ANYWAY...

Only to certain people. Millennials and below generally had no clue.

In fact, my 15yo grandson, who plays pinball; had not idea what "TILT" referenced. I think maybe the newer machines are more sophisticated or something.

    Bingo!
It came about quite by accident. My granddaughter calls Winnie the Pooh, Windy the Pooh. When she said that I was like, what a good cosplay mashup, Wendy the Pooh.
    Oh well...……………………….

Saturday is my oldest son's 24th Birthday. We'll be going out to eat and then back home for cake, ice cream, and gifts. My youngest son just got his driver's permit. Yesterday, I took him to a parking lot to practice....I'll take him out again each day until we either die in a horrific, fiery crash, or until he is good enough to get his license.....I'm getting too old for this stuff.

My son did....better...with his driving yesterday. I drank a lot after we got home. I think that's how I will ultimately measure his success; If he drives good enough to where I don't think I need anything to calm my nerves afterwards, then I guess he's doing good. Seriously though, I forget just how difficult it is for a new driver. Things you take for granted after years of driving are kind of foreign to them.

What a day that was! A huge surprise tour group in the morning that had me banging out souvenir Linotype slugs by the dozen, and a film screening in the afternoon, all while trying to get my flyer, my first three-color Windmill job, printed, and having to recast a Ludlow slug for the black while the red was running, and recast five more for the blue, while the black was running. At least you can walk away from a Windmill, once you get it feeding the paper consistently.

This is how the flyer turned out. I managed to get a net press run of 483.

100% letterpress, and except for the two rather obvious cuts, all from Ludlow slugs.

Finally home. Once more I found myself racing down a mountain (this time on the California side} trying to stay ahead of chain restrictions as the snow came close to white out conditions and began to stick to the road. Everything was fine.
This weekend we are celebrating 5 birthdays on my birthday with a picnic at a local park and zoo.

Oops! This weekend will be spent getting weeds cut as they grew thigh-high while we were gone.
My birthday is the following weekend and rain is predicted.
