I did not see this one coming. While I certainly miss MuppetVision 3D (just as I already miss GMR and Ellen, even though my last visit to WDW was before they went bye-bye), I'm delighted to see one of my WDW favorites show up closer to home.

After things like "Pain in the Night" and "Mickey's Mix Mess," and all manner of Marvel stuff, it's nice to see them do something right for a change. A few more good ideas (say, bringing back The MSEP, with the Dorsey version of the score, and the Blue Fairy, and making its return permanent, or maybe even putting CoP back in), and I might finally reinstate my pass.

Yeah, I like this change. Looking forward to seeing it for the first time.

Too bad it's the stripped down Paris version. They didn't even bother to animate the Donald's butt in the back of the theater. Heck they can't even keep a simple curtain the back working for more than a few days.

At least they HAVE Donald's butt at the back of the theatre. Weren't there rumors that they weren't going to have that? I figure this is a step in the right direction since that space was incredibly underutilized. Maybe they will be able to upgrade it to WDW's version if they get enough response?

ANYTHING that isn't "Pain in the Night" or "Mickey's Mix Mess," or another Marvel tie-in that only a comic book enthusiast would "get," is a step in the right direction. I'd gladly take a stripped-down PhilharMagic (although I'd have put it in Fantasyland or ToonTown), just as I would love to see even a severely scaled-down GMR in DCA HollywoodLand.

I just now, in light of the announcement about an imminent, albeit limited-run, MSEP return, checked the Disneyland web site. Still no sign of it there (at least that I could find), but I was reminded of PhilharMagic in DCA (which had slipped my mind), and with that, and the Parade return (assuming it actually happens), and the Soarin' Over California encore, I may yet see Galaxy's Edge before the year is out.

Of course naturally, the one month with the MSEP and Soarin' encores overlapping had to fall on the busiest month of the Hollywood Bowl season . . . .

Has anybody seen the Philharmagic at DCA yet? Is it any good?

I have seen it. It is worth seeing once and that is about it. It wasn't designed for this theater so the images have been shrunk down. Also the CGI feels very data.

On a hot summer day it is worth a few minutes to cool off.

I think most things that have been in that theatre are a once and done kind of thing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's where MuppetVision and a Frozen sing-a-long were before.

I liked MuppetVision. I didn't do it every time I visited DCA, but I probably did MuppetVision more often than I do the Enchanted Tiki Room.

Never even heard of any "Frozen singalong."

The Frozen singalong is when they completely kicked the Muppets out and built a new waiting area. All of the references to the Muppets were removed from the theater. Bean Bunny later took up residence in Mission Breakout as Rocket.
