Now that ghost town is fixed up, what are the rumors of what Knott's is going to do next?

I don't know what I'd like to see.

They might be able to siphon away my disney dollars if they do something out of the ordinary.

We were just at Knott's this past summer for a day. I think it is just a day park, and some of those roller coasters really beat you up.

Not being a roller coaster guy I can still spend a day in Knott's. After googling this I found out they are expanding Soak City.
    That sucks.

I was hoping Ouimet would continue retheming Knott's and add another quality ride to the few they have.
In my opinion Knott's is Voyage to the Iron Reef, Calico Mine Train, Timbermountain Log Ride, Ghostrider, and the Railroad. For Entertainment, Krazy kirk.

I was really hoping that they killed two birds with one stone and plussed up and/or added animatronics to Bigfoot Rapids and Pony Express.

Then you would really begin to get the Disneyland experience from 10-15 years ago that I miss.

Heck I keep waiting for Disney to add AAs to Grizzly River Rapids.

Maybe they'll just add one giant bear like the AA in the Shanghai version...which apparently is their version of disco yeti.

Still thinking about this...it's a shame they don't throw some money at that area. (Roaring Rapids, Pony Express)....

    Anyone have Ouimet's phone number?

It would be really cool to actually see Big Foot on the raft ride. I remember you could hear him growling near the waterfall.

In 2017 they're bringing back Ghost Town Alive (it's the reason we got a Season Pass for 2017), they're supposedly going to be opening a new Boardwalk BBQ restaurant in the Boardwalk Area.

My husband and I went a couple of times this last year, once for the Boysenberry Festival (which they're expanding next year) and once to check out Ghost Town Alive. When they announced that characters from Ghost Town Alive would be about during Knott's Merry Farm, and they were going to do Ghost Town Alive in 2017, we decided to drop the extremely reasonable cost (compared to Disneyland AP prices) and got the Platinum Pass. Even if we never get out of Ghost Town, it will get us out of the house and moving rather than being couch potatoes.

    Was at Knott's yesterday....
    Prophetic Crazycroc....

Here's hoping for a haunted house next...

P.S.- Disneyland is too crowded, they will get none of my money anymore.

I haven't really had the urge to go for a couple of years now...And for me, that's a sad thing. I haven't been to Knott's in many years. How are the crowds there?

Yeah, I think this trip, and the pending Star Wars land nonsense, as well as marvel coming, has ended my need to go feel like cattle.

The lines at Knott's were very manageable, 20 minutes on Calico River Rapids and that was it's opening day!

Timber Mountain Log Ride, Mine Train, Voyage to the Iron Reef, the railroad, the stagecoach, Pony Express....all enjoyable.

I don't do the coasters, but there was plenty to see and do while others in my party did.

Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies were great saw them 3 times. And then it hit me....Disney didn't have enjoyable must see entertainment like that anymore for me.
Disneyland's atmosphere is purchase, consume, later, rinse, repeat. Not for me anymore. No way.

I'm old, and I'm done with Disney, at least I know Knott's won't allow someone like Jimmy from the tortilla pre show to sully my fun day.

Come on Knott's! Make a cool animatronic haunted house!

Sounds pretty great! Personally, when I do go to DL I am in constant search of some nostalgic dream. I'll find glimmers now and again. But the real gems, the glorious motherlode of Disney-past, of my past, is elusive. And then, I find myself shuffling down Main Street among this mass of humanity, following the back of the head in front of me, and wondering what the hell I keep coming here for.

What did you think of Calico River Rapids? I'm betting it's better than Grizzly River Run, but that's not too hard to do.

I thought it was great. No stupid get yourself soaked drop. Animatronics were neat. Bigfoot was neat. I think it joins the Mine Train and Log Ride as must do's now.

It's good to finally get a Big Foot sighting. The cave is much better than the industrial tube they had before. I like the guy shooting fish and the Henry the Bear. Bob cat was cool too. Disney's GGR looks empty compared to the new animals in Calico River Rapids.

According to Darkbeer, the next big thing for Knotts is an extension to Ghost Town into backstage with a new roller coaster. It's seems some of the Haunt barns are going to be moved.

I am sad that you feel that way. And even sadder that it reflects my feelings. I am sure we will still go when our grandchildren go; but those long trips with the two of us are likely a thing of the past.

Nope, it will be a haunted old west dark ride. I thought it. It will happen. Hope the darkbeer is well.

I have wondered about them. Miss them both.

Since I have not been to Knott's since it was a Berry Farm; I am not sure how I would do there. It would be great to see the Billies.

I HIGHLY recommend the Billies show. Highly. I just got back from Knott's and I'm already planning my next trip....something I used to do for Disneyland.
