That was 9:30 Central Standard Time. As I type this the phone is still not coming back on. It only lists the Samsung screen. I've tried shutting it off, taking out the battery, putting it back in, charging it up again.

For those of you who have a similar phone, whether it's an Android, Blackberry or iPhone have you run into any similar issues. I'm debating taking it in but I know when I get to the place I bought it, it's going to work just fine.

Smart phones are complicated beasts, and there are a lot of things that can go wrong with them (which is true for any mobile phone, but even more so for Smart Phones)

They'll have between a 14-30 day return period on new devices, and a one-year manufacturers warranty after that. If it's out of the return period, you'll get a refurbished device under the warranty. The store most likely won't have the ability to fix the issue on your device - they'll give you a replacement and send it off to a center somewhere that will fix it and send it off to someone else as a warranty replacement.

It did exactly the same. It used to turn off when the battery got to around 40c and restart..it did this more so when charging and being used at the same time. ( u can download a battery temp app ) but one day it wouldn't re start. It wouldn't get passed the start up screen. I took it back in. And they sent it off and replaced the battery and mainboard. I read online that overheating can be a problem with smart phones.
    Good luck with it.
