Do they offer the discounts on the outdoor vending carts and informal dining places?
It says on their website that some Downtown Disney locations have "Exclusive benefits." Do any of you know what that means, what the benfits are and what places downtown offer these benefits?
I am seriously debating getting a PAP for my next trip. I know about the deluxe AP, but don't want to deal with blockout dates. In looking at Disneyland.com, it seems that the PAP offers a lot more discounts than the DAP. Anybody want to weigh in?
I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth the $$ or not. So far it seems like it is, especially if I can get in one more trip in the following year once I activate the AP. (I don't live in California...)
    Thanks.

Blockout dates aside, the difference in price between a DAP and a PAP is $120, so you would have to spend an $1200 in food or merchandise for the PAP to start making it worth more than a DAP.

Off the top of my head the extra discounts the PAP offers is free parking and an extra 5% off on dining.

For my upcoming January trip there are no blockout dates, but then later on in the year when I would go, there are blockouts. At the very least, I'll use it again in December of 2008 before it expires and it'll be during the blockout season that's why I can't risk getting the DAP. It's not worth it to have to pay an extra $30 a day...Unless it's possible to upgrade the DAP to a PAP if and when I need to do so. Is that a possibility? Of course by then, they'll raise the rates again probably, right?

It seems like there are more places that honor the PAP discounts than the DAP. I know I read here somewhere that the PAP gets discounts even on the outdoor vending places, unless it was posted as a joke. The verbiage is kind of confusing at the mousesavers site. First it says, "Not valid at outdoor cart locations, snack locations, Club 33, Napa Rose, and Room Service locations." Then it says, "Premium Annual Passholders get 15% off meals at virtually all dining locations in Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure and Disney hotels, and 10% off at most Downtown Disney restaurants."
We rarely sit down at restaurant for a meal, so if the ODV and snack places like French Market or Riverbelle Terrace or Bengal BBQ doesn't honor the discount then it may not be worth it for me to get the PAP... So do any of you know if they actually honor the discount at these informal/casual type places?

    Thanks...

French Market, Riverbelle Terrace and Bengal are not considered "snack places" they are restaurants and give the discount. ODV does not.

If a Food location offers a discount, then ALL AP's get a discount, the Premium AP's just get a higher percentage in the parks.

French Market, Riverbelle Terrace and Bengal BBQ all will honor the AP discount. But the Corn Dog Stand on Main Street and the Ice Cream Stand doesn't.

Yes, it is confusing, but it is better than the system they had a few years ago, then only selected restaurants would give you a Discount, it was hard to remember. This way, the vast majority of places give you one.

FWIW, the biggest benefit of a PAP is not having to worry about blockout dates or whether or not you get the max discount. That to me makes it worth it, even if I don't get the actual difference back in the price over the DAP.

Basically the key is the cash register and charging tax, if that is true, then the vast majority of the time you will get a discount, the exception are things like the Parasol Cart in NOS, which is an outside vendor.

For example, you buy and activate a Deluxe AP today for $239, then in December, you decide you need a Premium AP, you pay the $120 (maybe more), but the new AP still expires August of 2008.
