Looks like .. in order to repaint it .. they have to remove some of the panels and other parts to the ride.

(I'd be so happy if they secretly were removing the whole thing - in preparation for a New Tomorrowland!)

This should go first ... as it's a hindrance to getting in and out .. and there'll be plenty of "road blocks" to deal with .. when massive reconstruction does commence.

    IF at all. :(

I bet WDI is experimenting with different paints ... for the future!!

HKDL has done something similar with its Orbatron (technically they're flying saucers, but close enough, right?), where it's a very different asthetic, but the same basic idea. It looks like they don't have the lowest rotating planet in order to have the big blue sphere, but the rest are there in a semi-altered form. I would like to see them try to do something similar for DL's AO. I don't think the exact same thing would work because of the scale of the location (the big sphere would make it visually block the entrance much more than it currently does), but the general idea of the same mechanisms with a differently constructed exterior seems like it could work really well. They also have a bunch of fiber optics in the main sphere that light up like stars at night, so I think it would be kind of fun to see something like that for DL too.

However, it's no skin off my teeth if they decide to change the Astro Orbiter or take it out. I'm completely indifferent to it.

    Again, just wishful thinking
