    Look at Disney and Pixar films:

    Bug's Life = Seven Samurai

    Cars = Doc Hollywood

    Bolt = Incredible Journey & Truman Show

    The real biggie for me, is Call Me Joe. My sister, big SF junkie, was a fan of Poul Anderson, so I have vague memories of this story. Anyway, Avatar is as much taken from Call Me Joe as Cars is from Doc Hollywood. Makes me wonder if Cameron was a fan of Anderson's stories, growing up.

    Actually, it's pretty amazing that you can take the plot from Pocahontas and just change the person and place names and pretty much get Avatar.

    Try looking at the initial link again and changing the place and person names to Beauty and the Beast. Doesn't work.

    The plot is nowhere near the same, but whatever, I have to expect Disney fans to try to reach out there and make stuff up considering Disney movies have been lacking lately...
