I'll still be there opening weekend, but not quite as excited as I thought I'd be.

The character design seems more in keeping with that motley crew we saw at the pub in 'Tangled' -- which isn't necessarily a good thing for me.

It's funny. If this were being produced and released under the 'Walt Disney Pictures' banner, I'd probably be more forgiving, but with 'Pixar' (as they mention in the preview the makers of 'Finding Nemo' 'Up' and 'Wall-E') my expectations are much higher.

Based on what I'm seeing in the preview (please note that I have NOT YET SEEN THE ACTUAL MOVIE) my reaction is sort of...meh.

I feel like I only see that 'Disney' logo by itself when I'm walking past the toy section of a big-box retailer. Not really a high-quality experience that they want me to associate with this movie.

The character design in general looks okay to me, but the queen (I'm assuming) just looks a little 'off'. Sort of like the stereotypical motion capture characters. Just a pale, lifeless face, with no real interaction with anything. Maybe it's intentional for what's going on in those scenes, but in the clips she just looks a little undead.

I also agree that this is leaving me underwhelmed. I want to like it, and I'm sure it will be good, but this trailer (and the previous teaser) just doesn't do much for me. 'meh' is a very apt way to describe it.

The Disney logo at the begining feels wrong. Usually it is used at the begining of DVDs and BDs, but not in front of a movie.

    Yup.>

Really? I'm not sure I agree with that. "Up" had a really neat trailer. As did 'Wall-E' Seems like 'The Incredibles' was good too.

I thought Up's was okay. Wall-E was a little cutesy for me - I thought his whole design, taken in isolation, was a little cute; it took seeing the film for him to "work" for me. The Incredibles' was kinda amusing (the one I remember is Mr. Incredible trying to fit into his suit and not being able to) but it had nothing to do with the eventual film.

As for Brave... it looks gorgeous. Most Pixar films have been able to top the previous ones in terms of visual detail and photorealism. But as for the story... eh. I was excited about Brave being Pixar's first leading female protagonist film, but I'm just not feeling the love anymore. Brenda was kicked off this project and it was her baby from the beginning. And part of me believes that this might come back to bite them. I wouldn't say that Mark Andrews is talentless; quite the contrary. But I'm not sure this is his forte. We shall see.

PS I wasn't all that disappointed in Cars 2... it was a sequel which rarely pans out to be as good as the first and my little one loves it, which means I get a least the length of the movie to get some cleaning done!
