Basically, the dates are December 3 and 4 but there are no dinner packages available yet. You do have to purchase a dinner package if you want to be guaranteed a seat. There is a stand-by waiting area at the north end of the Christmas tree and at showtime the people in that line are able to take the empty seats. You could also wait in the Main Street area and position yourself around the roped off area. The showtimes are usually around 5:30 and 7:30 both days, but they haven't offically been announced yet. Other than the dinner packages, the seating is by invitation only. It's a great event if you can manage to get seats! Have fun!

It is really a "private" event, but they will allow folks to watch from behind the reserved seating, which is designed for cast and family who received tickets. A few years ago, they started to give a few tickets to the general public, first thru standing in line at 6 AM, then they switched to the meal packages.

The details have not yet been announced, but how it worked last year.

You had to spend a certain amount of money per person at a designated hotel restaurant (different amounts depending on the place), I think the cheapest was $40 per person. You MUST eat prior to the show you reserved. After you eat, they will hand you your tickets.

As of this morning, the folks at Disney Dining had no details, but they should be made public by the 3rd of November.

Keep an eye on the boards, as soon as the details are announced, you should find a thread here.

We really would have only needed to be there since after the end of the last parade. We were sitting on a curb as I recall, maybe a bench? and did not have a great view of the stage (on the stairs of the main street station) but didn't really need one. It was mostly an auditory event, and a supurb one. I hope to go back this year!
