To open in 2011? Given it will take two years to build. That means construction won't even start for two more years! What are they waiting for? They have the money. I can understand that Disney does not want all the contruction all at once so the park is not all torn up a one time. However, this contruction is out in the parking lot. How many years are they going to drag this 1.2 billion? I'm also not thrilled they want use valuable real estate to shoe horn another hotel in that corner of DCA.

Have you not been reading the boards? A time frame of 10 years has been mentioned more than a few times.

DCA will be 10 years old in 2011 byt hten DCA would had premiered a few attractions plus new parade and water extravaganza. Carland, will be a whole new land that will use part of the timon lot. It will also be the foundation for more future growth of DCA that would finally use up all of the remaining expansion land.

There are a significant amount of acres left in that parking lot for plenty of expansion.

Also take a note that there is also land that at the moment is used by roads that lead into the parking lot as well as roads that are used by the tram that could eventually be removed and used to place showbuildings similiar to how Disneyland has show buildings hidden behindthe parks view.

The rest of the park also has several areas that may seem small from inside but have access to other expansion plots for more attractions.

DCA will continue to grow as it gets older.

The plan is to redress and add several new additions within the first five years. If all goes well and the additions boost the parks overall performance then it will continue to get a significant addition in second phase which would start 2012 till 2017.

By then, if all goes well the strawberry field might become the next significant focus.

Carland just sounds like a terrible joke of a name that they came up with on the way to the presentation for it, which they planned for a total of 5 minutes.

I think it is so extremely important that you don't bring guests down psychologically by making them walk past all that old DCA tedium before they even have the chance to marvel over the new and improved DCA that awaits far inside.

I find the entrance "invisible." I suppose that's bad because it means it is bland, but I don't think about the entrance to the point where I say to myself, "that's horrible." Not saying I don't agree that it shouldn't be fixed, but I don't think it matters much if they work on it first or last... DCA has plenty of deficiencies to go around.
