This boy is 16 years old and his power trio (the other two of whom also looked at be about 16) just FLOORED me last night. They opened for Storyville here at Antone's and just WOW. That kid tore up the stage, chewed it up, and spit it out again. I highly recommend you check him out - I just Googled him and found out his Dad was Eric Johnson's bass player for 20 years, so no wonder that the kid sounded a bit like Eric Johnson on one of his songs last night! hehe He also has written a song that is very evocative of John Cougar Mellencamp, and his group does a mean cover of "Come Together." Since my buddy and I were late getting to the show last night, I think I may be headed to Antone's again on Wednesday to check this group out again.
