Also, a lot of the laser effects are very directional and can't be seen from the side either. I saw the show once from more or less the same position but on the opposite side of the water. Having said all of that, there are enough people each day that think that the Cove Bar would make a good viewing area, and/or have seen the show many times and don't care so much about the best angle as much as they do having the bar there and/or having seating and a restroom at the ready, that they can get away with a cover charge even though it's actually sub-prime viewing.

Funny, I have said the same thing about Fantasmic. And to enjoy Fantasmic more, I usually order the Captain's Mai Tai (not on the menu). So now I will try it during WOC.

Ah yes, the good doctor has finally lost it. Go back to SGV's and follow the thought process through that includes Fantasmic.

In other words, we are both touting Trader Sam's Tiki Bar as the place to sit and watch both WOC and Fantasmic.

A great question.

The Hippopoto-mai tai is excellent, in fact it is very close to old school. I believe it is the Agave Nectar that gives it the very unique taste.

Frankie's Tiki Room in Las Vegas makes the consummate Trader Vic's classic Mai Tai and that is somewhat like the Hippo-

Then there is, what some of us refer to as the "Vegas Casino Bar Mai Tai". It is made a little bit sweeter. And that is basically what the Captain's Mai Tai is.

The Captain's Mai Tai is primarily served at the Disneyland Hotel Pool Bar, but the Trader Sam's bar staff is happy to make it on request.

Suffice it to say, I like both Mai Tais from Trader Sam's depending on my mood.

Is this a good place to visit? i wanted to, but my husband didnt want to visit.

Frankie's Tiki Room is simply amazing. It is so fricken' dark when you walk in, allow for a moment to pass before stepping all the way in.

The quality of classic tiki drinks offered there is very high. They even offer the Lapu Lapu from the Royal Hawaiian, Laguna Beach.

So why then will I most likely ever go back inside of Frankie's? We were there in the middle of the day, no other patrons, the cigarette smoke coated walls were too much for my nose to take. I can't imagine what it must be like when patrons are in there smoking.

But yes, a one time visit is a must do.

At first I was going to say: Nevada passed a "clean indoor air act" a few years ago that more or less made Nevada like California and many other states, where indoor smoking was more or less totally banned, with the notable exception of full-service casinos (that is, those with table games and not just bars with video poker). That would have made Frankie's smoke free, at least inside. But in looking at it now, I see that just last year, they amended the law to once again permit smoking in bars, even those not in full-service casinos.

We have seen WOC once before but since we are senior citizens, we have trouble standing for long periods of time. If we just had to stand for the show, it wouldn't be so bad. But since we had to get there so far ahead of time and stand to wait for the show, then stand during the show, it's just too much for us.
We just need to find a place where we can sit (and not on the ground). : )
