We looked up and she was just hanging from the Matterhorn. When it came to the battle where the Matterhorn and castle fire on each other that part was skipped as she was still just dangling up there. At some point she was rescued as I noticed she was gone but I felt so bad watching her hanging up there for so long I had a hard time watching the show. Then....after, I heard one woman telling the lady next to us what Tink is supposed to do. I asked, "You have never seen this before?!!?" I felt even worse. I was talking to a CM about it the next day and she just commented, "That's an occupational hazzard of being Tinkerbell."

And I would take that job in a minute myself.

But maybe they have tried that, and it was deemed too distracting. Either way, you have to wonder how often things like this happen.

(And I have seen it more time that I can count.) Hope you get to see it soon.

Originally Posted By FerretAfros Each time I've seen her fly, she has done a pretty good deal of swinging. It makes sense if you think about it. Although she has two cables attached to her at angles, they really don't do much to minimize the swinging, as they also change her height. She only begins to swing when she changes direction, and it's pretty much all down hill from there. Although there is a way to minimize the swinging with a third line attached to her, it really isn't worth it, since the swinging will be the same each time for each person (but the swings may vary between performers, but that doesn't matter since they know only how they swing and can react to that). So, it may look like she's really swinging if you look at her in relation to the harness, but just looking at her, it is designed to look like she is doing her normal routine, and since it is fairly consistent and predictable, the performers are safe and know exactly what to expect....but I still wonder when they practice for a job like that. A vaguely related question: The other day I was thinking about the disco ball testing they were doing on the Matterhorn in spring '05. What ever happened to that, and what was it supposed to be? The rumors at the time were for the fireworks, but we all see how they turned out, and I at least am thankful that we have no disco balls up there.
