If you stayed at the Pop Century, you could use it for some desserty type items, or a big bag of Tostitos, or fruit. For me, it's just a lot of food. I'd rather just eat much smaller portion items during the day.

If you are going in 2008 it might not be to much now that they've eliminated the appetizer. Also remember the tip is no longer included in 2008. To much food is one of the complaints about the DDP. I hate the plan, I've never used it, and I never will. Since I have so much bias towards this plan it's not really fair for me to comment on it. You really need to check out all the menus at WDW, and decide with your food allergies if it will be worth it to you. Just remember to get in a lot of the table service restaurants you need to make your reservations well in advance.

There are sit-down meals that are good and not so pricey (one of my favorites is Trails End).

I think I would like it even better in '08 w/no appetizer if it weren't for the whole tip thing. I would definatly do it again. I *believe* although they don't advertise this option that you can talk them into trading one counter service for 2 snacks. You'll have to call and ask, I'm not making any promises.

I just used it. Because I got it for free. Even then, it was too much (and I'm fat and enjoy to eat). I wound up taking friends to dinner (not that there's anything wrong with that) and even buying snacks for strangers at the food court my final day.

It's just too much unless your goal is to be morbidly obese or you can burn up 5,000 calories in one day.

I also noticed that because I was forced to have PS's made for every day, that it greatly reduced my enjoyment because I couldn't be spontaneous. I was constantly looking at my watch thinking 'Oh, gotta be at EPCOT in 90 minutes or ... better not go to DAK because our PS is at the Poly and with Disney transport we'll have no time there' etc ...

I thought seriously about booking it again for the free period next year because I ate very well, but decided against it.

And if it isn't worth it for free, to me, it certainly isn't worth $38 a day each person!

We usually do 2 or 3 reservations in a 7 day trip. If you could get a less expensive DDP that only had counter service or a few sit downs in a week, we might think about it.

Now I like the sound of the DDE, and hope no one turns me off of that. Use to be, you went to the Castle first thing in the morning to make your reservations for later that same day.

As far as a sit-down meal, it just depends on the restaurant. Tutto Italia could run $75.00. Trails End for dinner runs closer to $20. Many people using their dining credits for character breakfasts, which wouldn't be a good use of the credits. Lunch is almost always cheaper than dinner, so it depends on what meal you are talking about sitting down for.
