This way a parent can take in young children and not have to worry about their little one while they are using the facility.

Our local mall has one and I loved it when my daughter was little, especially if I had my nieces with me also or a friend of my daughters. I could place them all in the sitting area while I used the facility, and then let them each time their time to go.

It is much less stressful than having to worry about keeping an eye on them all at one time.

I was so glad when I found that website! She will be 6 when we go next month and I am keeping my fingers crossed although I don't have much hope that she will be over the automatic flushing thing. Geez, I can hardly blame her because they always flush while she is on them. We've tried holding our hand over the "eye" and lots of other tricks but still have trouble and they are so LOUD.
Last month, our flight to Hawaii was delayed 5 hours and she would not go the whole time because the airport bathrooms are all automatic-ugh!
Anyway, I just love that website-lol. I couldn't believe anyone would take the time to do it but I have that and darkbeers fastpast guide with me at all times-lol!

When I was s youngster growing up, I do not ever remember a time my mom taking me into the ladies room with her. I do however remember her sending me into the men's room alone, and apparently I was fine with that. So, when I became a parent, I never once thought of taking my daughter into the mens room with me. I can tell you countless stories of me standing outside the door of a women's restroom yelling instructions or asking questions of my 3 year old daughter.

I remember once a lady said "why dont you just go in there, there isn't anyone else in there" My jaw dropped, "no way! invade the privacy of someone in the ladies room?" She said no, it's just your lil girl, I said "yes I know, I cant barge in on her, and what if someone comes in?" I used to hate being without my wife in public places, it always meant 3 or 4 stops outside the door of a ladies room looking like an idiot.

One time at a mall, a guy said "why dont you take her in the family room?" I said... "the family room? what, there is a den in here?" He said no, the family restroom right there. I had seen the sign before, but never knew what it was, after my daughter was finished [cuzz that day we were still doing outside the door communication] I decided to check it it. Now imagine a choir singing chants and a bright light coming from the background, I was amazed and disappointed at the same time for never knowing about these "family rooms"

Now prior to discovering them, I used to have a pet peeve, it was dad's who took their 2-5 year old daughters in the men's room at Disneyland. More than once I found myself in embarrassing situations of learning there was a little girl watching me while I was using the mens room. Then I realized, what the heck is one supposed to do? I guess those dads dont do outside the door yelling back and forth?

So I empathise with you eelninoo. I was sometimes able to ask a friendly looking mom type to help me out when I found myself in public places, because I am not comfortable taking girls in the men's room. I would ask if it they did'nt mind keeping an eye on her in there and helping button her up if necessary.

    It's tough situation.
