Just a warning...they aren't great. But there is a video of Ed Grier announcing the winners.

When I worked Attractions at the park throughout the 80s, I had always heard the rumor that they would never choose a guy for ambassador.
They'd always have a token guy as one of the finalists, but it always ended up being a woman. At least when I was there.
    Times have changed I guess.

Every year Cast Members can attend an information session about the Ambassador Program so they can get an idea of the history of the Program as well as what the role entails. Then Cast Members apply and interview with other Cast Members from different departments that utilize the Ambassadors (publicity, public affairs, Cast activities, etc.) Following the first round of interviews there are semi-finalists selected. Those Cast Members undergo more interviews including videotaped public speaking. After that round of interviews there are finalists selected. Finalists interview with executives at the Resort and they also participate in events such as VoluntEAR projects to give them the opportunity to interact with Guests. The Ambassador ceremony is lots of fun and nerve wracking at the same time. Every year former Ambassadors are invited to attend the ceremony. This year there were many former Ambassadors from as far back as the second year of the Ambassador program, 1966. And one of the best moments for me? I got to see Doug from LaughingPlace.com! It was so great to see him. I am thrilled that LP was there to share in meeting the newest members of the Disneyland Resort Ambassador family!

Here are two pictures from today when Quinn and Danielle heard their names.

Gerry Aquino (95), Chris Allen (96), Oscar Carrasco (98), Dorrell Mitter (99-00), Heri (Eddie) Garcia (00-01), Matt Ebeling (02), David Gill (07), and now Quinn Shurian. It's a whole new world! :)

I thought about going for ambassador back when I was a CM but figured there was really no point...based on the things I had heard. It had never been a guy, and talk was that it probably never would be. Good to see things have changed.

Representing the disneyland resort would be a tremendous opportunity for any cast member at resort. Plus it seems like you get the chance to meet others all around the globe and in the communities in california as well. I love meeting new people and visiting different cultures all with their unique and fascinating traditions.
