Iger said that the last time they looked at Dreamfinder, they thought that resources were better spent on other projects, and that there's currently no plans for him. But, Iger did say he'd at least ask WDI about it since the question was asked.

Fact: The Imagination Ride back then, known as the "Journey into Imagination" was never very busy nor as popular as some would want us to believe.
Figment still has possibilities, but Dreamfinder was a big fat dud.
Version 2 of the ride was worse. Version 3 isn't bad.
What they need to do is get someone like Tim Burton to come in and design the ride. Then you'll get some imagination.

People say nothing at Epcot was particularly busy though - they were all extremely high capacity attractions. It wasn't until they started reducing capacity that they starting creating major lines.

I disagree - I liked the Dreamfinder, although version 1 of the ride always felt as if they had done an incredible job for about 2/3 of it, and then just ran out of ideas. Version 2 sucked, and version 3 isn't much better. About the time you get to the sight lab and the big effect is - Figment in a little film on an eye chart - well, the whole ride is completely forgettable. And judging from the lack of lines, most people have forgotten it.

Dreamfinder was a spokesperson for a ride that hasn't existed for decades. Why should he ever be considered for more park time?

Having been friends with some imaginers back in the day and enjoying some GREAT bar conversations (gotta get em liquefied to get the REAL story, and this was when they were building DCA and DisneySea too!), I can tell you that those guys NEVER run out of ideas.

However, they frequently run out of money.

I think Disney knows it too - they're just not willing to spend the money to fix it. I mean, look at the rest of EPCOT - they have a ton of areas that need work - Wonders of Life and Universe of Energy spring to mind immediately, yet nothing is done! And when was the last time ANYTHING was added to World Showcase?

It's like they have just given up and only do as little as possible to keep people coming through the door. Thank God they thought up the Food & Wine and Flower festivals - otherwise I think EPCOT would be dead!

Isn't this kinda like saying "nobody goes there any more - it's too crowded"? As long as Disney has plenty of people coming through the front gate, they'll have no incentive to put in more stuff. Don't get me wrong - I'd love to see a new E ticket or a new country. But Epcot is still my favorite park by far, and I'll continue to enjoy it on my trip next week!

That's true, but that doesn't mean they should let the park get stale. Sure, they might get a lot of people through the gate, but what are those people's overall impression of the place? Is Disney still trying to make fans for life, or are they just happy with a one-timer?

I took a friend of mine to Epcot last weekend, and she hadn't been since she was 13. Let's just say she wasn't overly impressed with the place - in fact, the only thing she did like was walking around the World Showcase at night eating and drinking. I don't think she really has any incentive to rush back. Now I know this is just one opinion, but I have to wonder how wide-spread it is.

EPCOT, of all the theme parks, should be he one changing the most. It's suppossed to be about the FUTURE - and I just don't see much of that in Future World these days.

I'll say it again - as long as people are still coming through the gates (and they are, in droves!), there's no real corporate incentive to put more stuff in. Remember, these parks are not run by Walt any more. They're run by bean counters who look on their spreadsheet, see that they're still making buckets of money, and thus don't see a need for the next $100 million attraction. I'm hoping heads like Lasseter will continue to rise in the company and bring them back to the show company that they once were.
