We HAVE been the first seating of the day. That does not always "ensure a great experience" as others including myself have now mentioned.

It's nice that that is what you have experienced, but as I have observed it is spotty at best.

And especially with the first seating of the day there is NO excuse for poor food, bad service and slow seating.

    Good.

    1. There is no objective standard to measure whether a restaurant is "good."

    2. I can think it "good" and you can think it "bad" and we both are right.

Perfect example: Applebee's is a very large national chain, which implies that many, many people enjoy their food and service. I don't.

    We are all right.

    All right!

My, you are taking this waaaaaay too seriously. There is room for lots of opinions-not just the positive ones.

Blue Bayou has lots of ways that it can improve-hopefully they will-especially with the prices that they charge.

And it's nice to have an option that's not hot dogs and burgers.

Of course, if you're after burgers my favourite is the Hungry Bear! I'm not sure what it is but I just love that place. I think it's partly the fun of watching the Mark Twain go around the Rivers of America while you eat.

Napa Rose was fantastic. Storyellers very good.

We wanted a nice sit-down meal, but didn't want to spend too much time there (because of the crowds again). Overall, the entire meal took us less than 25 minutes, and it still felt very relaxed. Unlike a normal restuarant, we didn't really need to chat, since we had been together all day, so it was nice that the food came out really promptly.

As for food, I think it was pretty good. My brother had the Monte Cristo (I think my mom did too, but I really don't remember what she got), and he seemed to enjoy it. I had the prime rib, and it was just about the best prime rib I've ever had. I was really disappointed to see it taken off the menu when they redid it a while ago.

Good food, great atmosphere, and speedy service. Not much that I can possibly complain about (the bathroom was clean too!), but I have heard that especially in recent times they are notoriously inconsistant, which almost seems to be worse that consistantly bad. My once experience there, however, was great (and it always smells so good from the ride!)

Maybe but for "fine dining" as you call it, the food should be great from the first table in the morning until the last table of the night (Especially since everyone is paying the same price.)
And I have been there first seating (about 6 months ago)and the service was slow and the food was cold! The server blamed it on the kitchen getting "warmed up for the day."

So I agree with the person that said inconsistent is worse than just being bad!!

That is the great thing about DLand, you find what works for you among all the magical options and you can customize your trip to fit your needs.
