I liked it considerably more than I thought I would, in fact my entire family really enjoyed it. It's got action, comedy, love and adventure and the songs are wonderful and entertaining.

The short before the movie was amazing but MUST be watched in 3D for maximum appreciation.

I mean, will it be so popular that even more merchandise will come out and the characters will have long shelf lives at the Disney theme parks--unlike a certain coven of witches I could name, but I won't, because their movie bombed???

If FROZEN is equally successful a witch would assume this means we can expect Disney go back and tackle Jack & the Beanstalk, along with Rumplestiltskin.

I was thinking I'd skip this one and catch it at home later (based on the trailers), but now I'm thinking I'm home for the holiday, and not really planning anything for Saturday...

I'm a little surprised no one here (unless I missed it in a thread somewhere) has mentioned that this is the first-ever Disney Studios animated feature with a female (co)-director.

I blame the Brenda Chapman fiasco at Pixar for that.

Brenda was knocked down to co-director status when Mark Andrews took control of production, so having a female co-director seems less important than one woman solely in charge and calling the shots.

DWA already beat Disney/Pixar to the punch with that honor, when Jennifer Yuh helmed Kung Fu Panda 2.

And DreamWorks must have liked her efforts on that film, since she's currently directing KFP3. All without a male co-director to hold her little hand and make her feel almost as important as those in the boy's club.

Not to be "that fan", but the setting, the characters and the script made this in my Top 3 favorite Disney films ever. (It bumped Fantasia 2000 out. My other two faves are Hercules and Dumbo).

Definitely doesn't feel like they're just going through the motions with this - the story was unique. And the characters feel pretty fresh - not just a rehash of Tangled.

Also, much to my surprise, the snowman - who was crazy-annoying in the trailer - absolutely adorable in the movie.

I don't know if it'll be a classic. It's definitely very modern, which some people won't like. But I'm ready to see it again. It's a helluva lot of fun. :)

Just an advisory from a theater snob:

The DTD AMC, like many theaters in the chain, uses outdated 2k digital projectors and doesn't maintain them properly. You may be better off with your local theater.

If you insist on seeing it on your DL trip, the UltraLuxe at Gardenwalk, or if you have transportation, the Century Stadium over near the Honda Center, are much better choices.
