Who knows what is going to happen super bowl weekend with the sing along opening. I have it at 385 ignoring any effect of the sing a long. I am more curious what will happen internationally. It has a shot of being the biggest animated film in South Korea history. Japan will be interesting. Will it do WDAS numbers or Pixar numbers. I predict the latter.

It is hit and miss with accuracy though especially with family movies. Tangled's box office was down to c.$2m this same weekend, right? When the number is that low it is easier to retain as a percentage. I guess we will know tomorrow.

Tangled did quite poorly in Japan (c.$31m) compared to $90m for MU. They also rejected Wreck-it Ralph and more recently Planes has tanked. Reviews are important for family movies in Japan and I've no doubt that Frozen will get the critical plaudits it deserves. Tangled wasn't well reviewed (and rightly so) and so families tended to leave it alone.

Wreck it Ralph was good but this was my favorite movie since Lion King (Tarzan was up there for me too). Heard that WDW doesn't have much Frozen merchandise as my friend's kids were desperate to find something. Oops.

Glad I grabbed one as I wandered around the store because they were all gone within minutes.

It seems that everything they're trying to sell is flying off the shelves as fast as they put it there. They've done a lot of reordering and restocking, but there's still huge demand for the merchandise

Most projections have it finishing in the high 380's to 390. I think it will wind down somewhere around 380 because of the coming Lego Movie effect. Frozen still has all of February, Spring break and it's discount theater run yet to go.

Originally Posted By andyll >>I guess it isn't really important, but it will definitely pass DM2 now.<< Yep... the question is will the sing along add enough to push it towards 400. Disney keep Tangled in the theaters forever so it could hit 200m... they might do the same for Frozen if they think it could hit 400m. Internationally is were the excitement is now. It is setting records in a lot of places... South Korea absolutely blew up. I'm hearing that excitement is real high in Japan. WDAS hasn't always done great there but Pixar has. I'm hearing MU type of excitement. If it can do MU numbers in Japan then 1 Billion is in play. Mr X... do you read this forum and what are you hearing?
