It is very tourist oriented so there are tons of rules/ordinances about everything from what color you can paint your house to how many drive through windows they will allow. The powers that be would like to keep it a small town so you need a permit for just about anything. It is very beautiful with lots of parks and a University and the Oregon Shakespeare festival.....I guess that is why I am still here, plus the cost of living is still less than California, creeping up but still less.
