I feel bad just having it on his Netflix queue. Slapdash, BAD BAD animation.. and if you didn't know who the 'bad guy' was within 10min of the OVERLY long & drawn out should-have-been a 5min festival of animation short-but-wasn't.. I just feel bad for anyone who paid to see this movie. MISERABLE I was.. and twitchy. This makes me even less likely to hack Sean's queue to see THE WILD or whatever else is out there. FOREWARNED YA BE! You want cute whacked out squirels? Skip this one. ps: OH! now I remember what the squirrel's name was.. TWITCHY~ makes sense now.. "what'll we call the squirrel?" "I don't know but the movie left me TWITCHY!" (oh and don't get me started on the singing goat.. and what you saw in the movie was the SHORT version of the song.. groan!!!!)

I was having a hard time with the bad animation though.. there was something weird with the faces.. the policemen bear got on my nerves too.. as well the woodsman.. I think this is the worst reaction I ever had to an animated film since.. Atlantis II and Hunchback of Notre Dame II (direct to video)..

Rumors in the animation community is that this movie was done for between $5-$15 million, and I think they accomplished a lot for a first try. Did you watch the "making of?" I'm guessing NOT, based on your reaction. It reminded me of an "old-style" process. The whole thing was storyboarded, recorded first with just the friends of the guys who did the movie, shown to neighbor kids, and consultation with the "Illusion of Life" book. If anyone here had any thoughts that they COULD make a movie, this is an excellent case study, that yeah, if you are determined enough... Yes, yes you could.

If it was actually made for $15 million or less, I geuss it looks really good, but for supposedly being one of the big new movies, it just couldn't deliver for me, at least.
