Just in total, its impact way exceeded the sum of its parts. The only Epcot attraction that comes close to that now is Spaceship Earth.

I think because it combined all the other Future World focal points (communication, the Land, the Sea, energy, imagination, etc) into one amazing finale. All the other pavilions were building blocks, and Horizons was where they were all put together. Which is also why, I always felt like the pavilion was in the wrong place, shoved off to one side, instead of something in the middle of the park, along the central corridor.
