    >>The House of Representatives has passed a bill that would prevent people from blaming food companies and restaurants for their weight problems.

H.R. 554, the "Personal Responsibility in Food Consumption Act" - also known as the Cheeseburger Bill -- passed Wednesday on a bipartisan vote of 307-119. A similar bill passed the House last year.

While the measure blocks "frivolous" obesity suits, it will not protect businesses that violate the law or serve adulterated food products.

"Today's action by the House of Representatives emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility," said National Restaurant Association President and CEO Steven C. Anderson. "Frivolous litigation is not a solution to addressing the complex issue of obesity."

Anderson said it is "irrational" to hold restaurants and food companies legally responsible for choices that Americans freely make each day - including what to eat, when to eat and how much to eat.<<

We should celebrate this milestone in 21st Century law and the fact that we have finally reached yet another milestone as a species. In fact, it reminded me that we are, without a doubt at the zenith in our development of the human character.

The signatories of this historic bill will someday be mentioned in history books along with the signers of that other bill, you know, oh what is it?
    The Bill of something.
