And, no, no CM came over the PA at all.

This is something that has grown exponentially over the past 2-3 years and Disney allows it ... just some more WalMart behavior from boorish tourists who think they're the only people in the world.

They could always say, if you flash, more than once, you will be forced to detention in small world for 2 hours…

ORDDU: Well, of course, there's flashing and then there's FLASHING. Perhaps the kind of flashing they truly don't allow on Pirates of the Caribbean is the sort I've sometimes gotten away with--when I wanted to impress the gorgeous hunk sitting next to me...

If that is the case... then why have they never stopped the ride and eject those who smoke pot in the mansion, and eject them from the park? Have you any idea how umpleasant it is to cover your nose for over 8 mins while some jerk is getting high in the dark, just a few doombuggies ahead of you???

Wow. Then DLR could take a lesson from WDW.

About 80% of the many times I visited the Mansion at Disneyland over the past few years, the stretching room experience was totally ruined by obnoxious fellow "guests" who yelled the narration over our Ghost Host. NOT a magical way to begin to experience a classic attraction.

Guess the DLR management is worse than the WDW management for allowing this to happen.

    Ummmmm...

I guess I'm agreeing with Spirit that tourists can be obnoxious.

I guess I'm challenging [and willing to suffer the consequences] the notion that this is specific to WDW.

I've posted about this before. This really gets to me, as it totally ruins the ambiance of the Mansion. I wish they would do something about this. I think that WDI could come up with something that would help with this if they put their minds to it.

You SURE you want to agree with the mean, old, scary Spirit?

Oh, and I did notice a problem with flash photog on PoC in Anaheim during my two visits this spring. But there was a difference: CMs kept coming over the PA and eventually the morons got the idea.

At WDW it's open season. They actually encourage it on the new Seas with Nemo and it is nonstop and it does ruin the experience for others.

It's an obsession, I think! I really wanted to enjoy the Tiki Birds at DLR but 75% of the people in the show linked arms and (badly) sang the songs at top volume. I was really disappointed. I am glad that they were having fun but even though it didn't completely ruin it for me, it did rob me of what I wanted to hear.

WDW also has it's groups. I can remember once at Country Bears a large group of "guests" were clapping their hands and stomping their feet while singing (again badly) the songs. Any of you that have been to that show in recent years will know, the sound system is on it's last legs in there so nothing could be heard of the actual show. I know that many people that had never been before will never go again because, basically they missed the show and didn't get the chance to enjoy it.

It would be nice if Disney fans could get past their obsessions long enough to realize that they are not the only people in the room and what they consider great fun ruins the experience for many. I don't guess that will happen any time soon.

The amateur photographer no longer has to be concerned about the cost of a roll of film and the limited number of shots there. With hundreds, maybe even thousands, of shots available on a single flash memory disk, it encourages folks to snap as many pictures as they can possibly capture. If the old 35mm cameras had this possibility of nearly endless film rolls back in 1970, guests would have shown the exact same behavior. There really is no difference in guest behavior, just the equipment they now have at their disposal to demonstrate their true nature.

I wonder if Disney could offer some "canned" interior shots of attractions for their photo pass program -- essentially giving people who want to take pictures of attraction interiors the option of adding professionally captured images to their CD so they don't have to do it on their own?

Um, once the doombuggy goes under the archway we dont know WHAT they are doing unless they get out and cause an intrusion. And i, PERSONALLY, do not know what pot smells like.

I am really shocked to find out once those doombuggies go thru the first scene, the CM is totally unawared of what happens during the ride. What about an emergency in the middle of the ride? How can the cast react to it if they do not have a way of knowing what goes on during the ride?
