If someone had played the LOST numbers: 4 8 15 16 23 42, making 42 the Mega Millions red number, they would have won $150.

    The Mega Millions draw was:

    4, 8, 15, 25, 47, and 42 (Mega)

So, did anyone have that kind of foresight??

I'd say quite a few did. Just for fun, I pulled the data from the Texas portion of the Mega Millions draw for the previous 10 draws, and compared the ratio of the people that got 3+1 numbers (that is, 3 regular balls plus the bonus ball) vs those that got 0+1 numbers. Over that baseline, the drawing yesterday had 52% more people get 3+1 than the historical average would indicate, which means that an educated guess would be that about 1/3 of those that won the 3+1 match yesterday picked them due to them being the Lost numbers (or some other special reason not identified, which seems unlikely). Interesting!

Good for those who do win, though... and, I've got a buddy who always plays who's promised that if he gets at least $10 million, I get $100K. Good friend. :D

so I figure whatever tickets I buy the rest of my life I am still ahead... but I am not a gambler so I tend to agree with the throwing money away sentiment
