The last 48 hours here have been quite something. They've taken place in about a 10-11 block area on the northwest side of the city. It started Saturday night when a police officer(African American) shot and killed a convicted felon who was brandishing a stolen automatic weapon, he also had on his possession over 500 rounds of ammo. After that some members of the neighborhood started to riot in the process 6 businesses were burnt down. The are certainly issues with the black community and the police. And many of these shootings are very hard to justify. This one wasn't.
Have to agree. There was no choice but lethal force. I am afraid that those who are just looking for an excuse to riot are damaging the good intentions of those seeking justice.
