If you don't have any motion sickness problems then I think you should be fine, just make sure you face forward and don't look to the sides and don't close your eyes.

On my one ride, I pretty much freaked out, and would have leaped off if I could have found a way to do so. If you have any slight claustrophobia, this ride, on either side, is most definitely NOT for you!

The panel that comes in front of you would be like you sitting behind the steering wheel of your car...If you can drive a car then your fine. The greatest part of the ride is the take off from the platform. The pressure you feel on your body is unbelievable. As a kid I always wondered what it felt like taking off in a shuttle. Well If this is it....I should of became an astronaut. Im not going to bad mouth anyone who thinks it is a bad ride or just not a safe ride. Just remember that the signs are up and noone is going to force you to do it. But the only way you are gonig to really know what it is like is do it. Dont think of the bad things while inside of it(Clastrophobia,Motion sickness, looking to the side) I think most of that kind of stuff is Mental. Just enjoy the buttons on the panel. As you are waiting in there touch them goof around with them. Then enjoy it. Have fun

Yeah, of course there's a mental aspect to a lot of this stuff. But that doesn't make it any less real. I can drive a car just fine - in fact, I drive all over the country for vacation. But the capsule in M:S is completely different - much closer to your face. And with the harness, you're completely enclosed and prohibited from much movement. My mental state told me very clearly that this was not a condition that I was comfortable with.

Claustrophobia is a very real condition that some people have and some don't. If it doesn't bother you, you're probably gonna love M:S. If you have the slightest concern, don't go for it - there are plenty of other rides.

I freaked out once when I had to ride in the back seat of a Mustang I used to own. I cannot sleep in the upper berth on a train because the ceiling is too close. If an elevator takes longer than usual to open its doors I start to panic. You get the picture.

When I first got in the capsule and it was closed I had real worries. Then a couple of things occurred which reduced my fear:

    1) Once the video projection started my claustrophobia was markedly reduced. I don't know if it made me feel I was in a larger space or if it just distracted me enough that I forgot about it.

    2) The fresh air they blow in your face reduced my feeling of being closed in. It was like the time I freaked in my Mustang... I asked the driver to open his window all the way and once he did I was markedly better.

Even for people with claustrophobia, I think everyone's experience will differ. The ride is so absolutely incredible that I think it is worth taking the chance to try it one time. If you hate it, at least it is only five minutes long and you never need to try it again!

Y'know, this was exactly the problem I had. Once the control panel came down, they didn't start the video portion for maybe 30 to 45 seconds, probably while they were getting other pods situated. It was more than enough time for me to go ballistic!
