Although I agree that they need to work on some attractions, I don't think that it is a decent excuse for letting the others slip into obsolescence as well.

Gee... if it was me saying all those terrible things about the MK, NO ONE would believe me and would call me an old fop and the likes.. Where is Dis-Phillip when you need him???

I honestly wonder if WDW's exec team (and Jay Rasulo) sit back and say prayers every day that the guests never visit another Disney outpost and see how things are supposed to (and used to be) run.

Why do you think it's so easy for me to find faults at WDW? Then people here think I am just a conniving arse for being so fierce! But they do not know what I know what you now know Spirit!!

I just feel that you remember how things used to be and you're trying to get your point across that this is the way they should be again! I think it's too easy to fall into that "excuse jag" that we all can use to make exceptions for quality and good customer service. That's why it's getting harder to experience, not only at the MK, but many other places as well.
I try to live by that old line "if you're going to do something, do it right the first time." I see no logic or good in having to repeat something just because no one cared enough to do it correctly the first time around. A true and sad waste of life and energy.
Disney set the gold standard for service and and worked very hard to make us all believe and want to go to that "happy place" It pains me so to think that this is no longer their primary objective. I know there's the "it's a business" argument in there, but I still believe that if you have a product or service that is second to none, then you will succeed. It sounds from your reports and some others that their philosphy is now to let it ride on their once stellar reputation.
We have re-booked our trip for this October and I will certainly be looking for some of these things of which you have mentioned. Since I have spent a greater part of my working adult life as a customer service trainer for various companies, I do know what good C/S is and I am not shy about tactfully letting someone know about it. I have had responses back from more than one "big-wig" about my concerns about what is going on in their companies before.
Keep up your reports, TDLFAN and Spirit too. Sometimes they are not always so easy to read, but the only way things will ever change is for enough people like you to step up and tell it like it is!!!!

Um... Am I the only one seeing the irony in this?

It's actually quite understandable as to why someone would do this.

ORWEN: Anyway, we totally agree with TDLFAN's assessments, too, along with Spirit's. Uncle Walt DID set a high standard that many current management types don't seem to have a clue about.

That does happen still at WDW but not to the same degree it once did. Especially now when ticket prices are at their highest (and continue to go up yearly it seems) and with the price increases, my expectation rise higher. Some people here are content with what they get from WDW but not me, and I am sorry that I feel no need to apologize for my point on view on this matter. As for you Stitchmom... maybe you will have a great time at WDW and that is the way it should be, and hope it will be for you on your upcoming visit. That is the beauty of this board.. that everyone is bound to have a different perception or experience from WDW than everyone elses.

See for me, if I pay more I expect more. I want open pavilions (Cough Wonder of Life) but I also like them to be in tip-top shape, I also want them to be updated, when film references are so severely out of date a 14 year old has problems with them, you know somethings wrong. I like my parks but I also want them maintained and updated. Imagine living in a house for over 30 years and not updating things (IE the Kitchen, Bathroom, Television) and on top of that not maintaining it so the laminate on the counter top shows through to the core... Now imagine having to pay more for that experience...

A "poor excuse of a Disney park?" Well that would be the studios in Paris, but the MK will become just that if drastic upgrades are not made in the maintenance and attraction divisions soon enough. Too bad you average joe tourist from the UK, Brazil and even the midwest and some parts of Texas can't see that still and continue to give management thumbs up. Those wacky pollyannas...
