However, they might want to consider a Science Fiction Land for attractions based on Pixar movies--since so many of Pixar's offerings are modern themes with a certain amount of science fiction as a central theme.

Retain the circlevision for comedy sketches with the Monsters characters, even clips from the movie, then have Mike and Sully animatronics collect the audience's laughs to convert into energy! Theater lights come back on and show's done. Or, make the audience part of a competition to collect the most laughs... Randall would have a collector and Mike + Sully would too. I would like that more than a movie ride-through.
