My daughters school is also on a different schedule than most schools. She isn't off Columbus day, but has her week long fall break starting on the 16th. We are taking her out of school for one day! She goes to parochial school, so their holiday schedule always seems to vary from the public school system. However, it also makes it much more difficult to take her out of school for vacations.
