The pictures are worth buying depending on the photographer you choose. You see? Many of those photo people are NOT professional photographers, and while many do a decent job, some are simply aweful and do not know how to properly frame a picture in regards to scenery, background versus subjects.

I would also by-pass using Disney's "make a cd" services since you can do that for much cheaper at your local Target or walmart, assuming you have a digital camera with your own memory card.

The reason the CD is so expensive is because you're buying the copyright to the picture and can reprint the images and do with them what you will, make greeting cards, etc. Whatever you feel like doing. =)

If you just get prints made up you can't duplicate them without buying more copies through Disney. A regulae 5 by 7 print is 12.95, 13.80 with Florida tax. It goes down with each image up to three, the third and following each being 9.95.

Personally, I like Photopass when they input Disney characters into them. I have a picture with a bunch of friends holding a Baby Simba at DAK.

Anyway, if you have anymore questions about Photopass I can surely answer them. =)

In the end, we never even cared for the final photos and did not buy any of them. My mother learned her lesson since then.

Every time I had Tink or Simba placed, they asked me if I wanted it, or I requested it.

There was one time where the guy made it a small surprise for us (We didn't know Simba could be added, we were all Main Street CMs).

I've watched A LOT of people get their pictures made, and I can't recall anyone ever being surprised Tink was there, the CMs told them.

Now, if they're insisting on them, that's different, but again its never been forced on me when I've used Photopass.

I forget if they have to make quota or not, but I really doubt it, they're hourly just like me. Paid more, too.

That really bugs me as well: entering a theme park and then having to pass a gauntlet of photographers hounding you for a "no obligation" picture. They might as well just put timeshare salesmen in the park as well. Oh wait, they already have them.

the cd will hold as many pictures as you care to have taken, upwards of 100, depending on phot/cd size. the photographers are stationed all around the parks, they don't attack you as you may be led to beleive--i've always found the photographers low key, available if you need them, but not pushy. Buying the cd is advisable if you have a ton of photos taken, along with the rights to print them anywhere you'd like, you also get the photo editing tools you have online, like the borders and park logos. if you're only going to get one or two photos printed, the cd isn't necessary.

if that's the case, and you have your own camera, hand it to the photographers and ask them to snap off a few on your camera, we do this all the time.

That would defeat the prupose of Photoshop, which is for you to buy the photo, then be forced to buy one of the many nice 5x7 photo frames they sell at the gift shops. It's all about the money they can makes based on your individual needs.

To their credit... some of them will offer to take a photo with your personal camera if they see you posing without a member of your party. But some others are just pushy salesmen on Main Street USA. That irks the hell out of me.

Yes they will take a picture with your own camera cheerfully. I did the photo movie using their pictures and mine. It is only 56 dollars and it came out really cool. And I liked it because there were some pictures I couldn't capture as well for myself, especially the water park pictures. They actually have people who wade into the wave pool. I guess I never use photopass at dl since I am only 45 min from there, but for wdw that I don't get to as often it was worth it.

All the photos taken at the Character meals (Chef Mickey, Spirit of Aloha, etc) have to be purchased right there and you can't wait until the end of your trip and decide which ones you really want. We usually end up buying more of those than we need to because of that. I'd LOVE to see all the photographers in all areas using the same system rather than the goofy bring the printed photos to your table while you're eating routine!

I had read something on another site that all of those photos taken at the character meals do have photopass numbers on them and if you can jot down the approximate time of the shot and the date and place that they can be looked up. Someone reported that she was able to have her photos from two of the meals ( Chef Mickey's was one of them ) added to her PP CD. I guess it can take a little looking for but is possible. She was told this by a cast member who delivered her photos to her table at one of the meals. Now, I don't know if this was something they'll do for everyone or not. Anyone else tried this?
