    >>Two key White House aides await their fate in the CIA leak probe after a prosecutor spent three hours before a grand jury that could hand up indictments and rock the Bush administration. A spokesman for the prosecutor said there would be no public announcements before Friday, the day the grand jury's term expires. <<

Also-- which way is the wind blowing? And what did Karl Rove have for breakfast?

Sorry-- but I find the media's desperate efforts to fill the void too funny. Jon Stewart had a great medley of 24/7 TV News channels last night, all breathlessly announcing that there was nothing to announce.

There will be plenty to talk about tomorrow, I am sure. In the meantime, I eagerly await a report on what color tie Fitzgerald wears today, and the significance of same.

All right-- I wanna see those nails. The public has a right to know!

    Sorry.

I just can't help but feel that all this is simply pent up Rove bashing that has been delayed yet another day...

I don't know that that's true. Given that both of Bush's pres. elections were squeakers, and Rove is widely credited by supporters and detractors alike at being just about the best in the business at what he does, it's quite possible that without Rove, Bush never becomes president in the first place.

My prediction: Karl Rove takes over AirAmerica and makes it into a great conservative institution, and is then eaten by baby sharks.

    >>While White House staffers were tense, Fitzgerald's team relaxed from their stoic, all-business demeanor. The cheery prosecutors shared an elevator ride with a News reporter and cracked up over a private joke.<<

    >>After weeks of hand-wringing about possible indictments in the CIA leak investigation, President Bush and his advisers put on a brave face today. Bush smiled and joked as he left to make a speech on terrorism in Norfolk, Va.<<

See? When the preosecutor's staff shares a private joke, it's because they're "relaxed." When Bush smiles and jokes, it's because he's "putting on a brave face." These mind reading reporters are just amazing...
